Marine GIS

Clarity before a decision is made

The Marine GIS Module allows the results of successfully simulated models to be presented and managed within a Geographic Information System (GIS) framework.

This module is an extension of ArcGIS versions 9.0 and 9.1. It enables model results to be integrated with other supporting spatial datasets.

Full technical basis and contextOpen this section to read the complete source technical narrative.

The Marine GIS Module allows the results of successfully simulated models to be presented and managed within a Geographic Information System (GIS) framework. Model outputs from rivers, open waters, coastal areas, and offshore waters can be integrated and managed through this module.

This module is an extension of ArcGIS versions 9.0 and 9.1. It enables model results to be integrated with other supporting spatial datasets. In addition, it supports advanced visualization through modern web-based technology, allowing model outputs and spatial information to be presented through an internet-connected network interface.

The Marine Manager is used to create, design, and display databases of modeling results.

The Survey Manager is used to import, store, and export marine field observation and survey data.
