Wave Analysis Tools

Clarity before a decision is made

The Wave Analysis Tools Module is an advanced analytical module designed to analyze wave time-series data obtained from physical models, numerical simulations, or field observations.

This submodule analyzes wave time-series data in the frequency domain using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). It assumes that a wave time series is composed of an unlimited number of wave components with different amplitudes and phases, forming a wave superposition.

The Wave Analysis Tools Module is an advanced analytical module designed to analyze wave time-series data obtained from physical models, numerical simulations, or field observations. This module consists of four main submodules:

This submodule analyzes wave time-series data in the frequency domain using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). It assumes that a wave time series is composed of an unlimited number of wave components with different amplitudes and phases, forming a wave superposition.

The Digital Filter Analysis submodule provides a wide range of digital filtering options. In general, filtering is the process of selecting, attenuating, or suppressing specific frequency components from a time-series signal in order to shape the frequency spectrum of the signal.

This filter uses a classification known as Finite Impulse Response (FIR), also referred to as a non-recursive filter. FIR filters are characterized by specific filter coefficients in the time domain and produce a corresponding transfer function in the frequency domain.
